In a joint effort to bolster community safety and enhance law enforcement capabilities, the Majority Leader of the Kogi State Assembly, Hon. Suleiman AbdulRazak, on 27th April, 2024 joined the State Governor, His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo, to commission a fleet of operational vehicles and motorbikes for vigilante groups across the state.

The initiative aims to strengthen community policing efforts, fostering collaboration between local authorities and vigilant citizens. By equipping vigilante groups with the necessary tools and resources, the government aims to improve response times to emergencies, enhance surveillance, and deter criminal activity.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Suleiman, Majority Leader of the State Assembly, emphasized the importance of proactive community engagement in ensuring public safety. H.E Ahmed Usman Ododo, the State Governor, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives that empower communities to take ownership of their security.

The newly commissioned vehicles and motorbikes mark a significant step forward in the state’s ongoing efforts to promote community policing and building safer neighborhoods for all citizens and residents of the state.
